Recession Proof Homemade Hair Remedies!

In 2009, it's only right to conserve our money and limit our splurging. Here are a few in- home products that you can find will do same thing as any styling product. It's a short list but it gives you plenty of insight on items you thought you could never use on your hair.

Homemade Hair Remedies:

  1. Mayonnaise - I'm a not a big fan for mayo on my sandwich but for your hair it does wonders. Full of cholesterol, mayonnaise can be used as deep conditioner for your hair. My suggestion maybe on your day off , when you are folding clothes or what not. Apply 1 cup of mayonnaise on your hair (wet) and comb through. Put a plastic cap on and just let it penetrate for 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse it out with lukewarm water.
  2. Eggs - It is a known fact muscle- heads drinks eggs for protein, but there is also another hidden treasure to this egg. For anyone who suffers from dry scalp or dandruff this the remedy for you. Batter about 2 eggs and apply to hair (wet/dry). Comb through and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
  3. Pure Olive Oil - Awesome as a cooking oil, this also can be used to nourish you scalp as a grease or a hot oil treatment. Apply one 1/4 of a cup to you scalp , put a plastic cap on, and let it penetrate under a dry. If you want to use it as grease or an oil for your hair use as well 1/4 of a cup and apply to your liking. Olive oil is definitely known to make your hair grow.
  4. Beer - When I have had wild girl night out it's nothing like a good ol' beer to mellow things out j/k. All you need is 1 bottle of beer, comb through, and let sit for 10 -15mins, and rinse out. The results? Your hair will have a high gloss and a brand new shine that it never had before.

Go Home Remedies Go! You never new that so many little things could help your hair.

The Intro to BitterSweet

I believe the key to doing hair and establishing a good name as a stylist doesn't involve how long you've been a licensed stylist or what salon you work at. I have had a comb in one hand and a barbie doll in the other since birth as a start off to my hair career. I recieved my barber/hairstyling license in August about two years ago at the age of 18 going on 19 in September. I BREATHE, EAT LOL, SLEEP, and even on my days off from the salon do hair at home 24.7. I aspire to be the ultimate stylists to my clients. This means working their schedule into mine, taking care of their hair, and being there for them as their friend. I hope when people check out my blog they like what they see, become interested, and then contact me to setup their own appointment. ENJOY!!!!!
